Hello, Pinterest Vehicle!

Why Pinterest won't let you upload pictures directly from your photo files I do not know OR it's a case of Caro discrimination or my blog just misses me.. Inantimate object = not likely. First efforts of Zentangling from Book 3.. I'm making balloons for my Disney scrapbook! This technique fascinates me now that I'm officially lazy, retired and on "one arm probation" for 2 months. Can't wait to try with my Dyan Reaveley stamps!

Art Journaling: Again

Not much time to play with my new Dylusions with the move and settling in but now, with my torn rotator cuff putting me on "light duty" through at least June and a ton of new toys to play with in my craft room... let the experimenting begin. This page combines one of Julie Nutting's Prima mixed media dolls, a Shimmer Sheetz embossed butterfly, great bird theme stenciling with the new white Dylusions and some emboss resist on the larger butterfly and backgound.. Not sure what I was thinking when I did background colors for this a few months ago but. Doll colored with Tim H's reinkers watered down with water for a muted effect. Sentiment: "Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you'll fly." Didn't know I had so many bird stamps! Other papers I've sprayed to use as background pages for Disney scrapbook I'm doing at a crop next week.. I used Bristol board but not as happy with it and how the water and Dylusions "blend" as it does with paper in Dyan's journal.

Crazy File Cabinet Cleanout

When you go to clean out a file cabinet you've only thrown stuff into for about 8 years or so you find all kinds of receipts and stuff. Downsizing means downsizing your mess too... luckily Dyan Reaveley had some great quotes for this too!

Adventures with Pork and Wire Ribbon

... ha.... ha... but not at the same time. First is the kitchen adventure which looks for all the world like a gloppy mess despite my trying to make it look appealing = obviously food photography is not my "thing."! What to do with pork tenderloin when you have divine Rosemary bread from Healthy Grains Bakery in the pantry? Solution was really delicious and will do again! Browned the pork tenderloins in a little olive oil and garlic, seasoned them with sea salt. Prepare 1/2 large bag of chopped spinach in microwave and drain. Cook 1-1/2 Cups fusilli whole wheat pasta and drain. Layer cooked spinach on browned pork tenderloins, season to taste with Italian herbs, layer fusilli pasta over spinach and top with 1/2-2/3 jar of traditional pasta sauce (not the thick chunky kind). Cover and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Remove from oven, top with shredded mozzarella and return to oven till cheese melts.. Voila! And my buddy Sharon helped (or pretty much made) the base of my Steelers wreath for front door of new house.. now to find some small banners.. Thanks, Sharon!!!!!

Make 'n take day!

Went to Betty's Stamping and Scrapbooking Room for make 'n take day.. 7 projects for $15 can't be beat and there is always a ton of new stuff to ooh and ahh over and try not to buy. One of my favorite projects is in someone else's car (smart me, will post later) but these 4 were great, especially the chart we made for Tim and Dyan's divine new products. The card is done using a Faber Castell gelato resist: stamp the tree with Versamark, use white embossing powder, heat & dry... the rub swipes of 2-3 green gelatos on bottom of the tag, blend with big water brush (not too wet) and wipe off to clean your tree! Voila! The crazy lady tag is just another frustration reliever using Dylusions spray in water pen to color the "lady" in pieces, vthen spraying and misting and "glopping" the tag to blend colors. Used one of Dyan's stencils and her new white linen spray to instead of water resist for background (white dots)and some "between the lines" stamps to accident before gluing Ms. Colorful on.. The butterfly card was made in haste! Used 3 colors of Tim Holtz' new distress paints, 3 dabs on the craft mat, misted with water and then pulled the white paper through and through. Dried a bit with heater. Inked grass with green distress paint (don't press to hard), stamped over blue distress ink. Butterfly embossed, colored with distress markers, blended with water brush, cut out and glued on with glue dot.. sentiment embossed and voila..
